"Cabin"

I have to put the quotes because this "cabin" is bigger than our house by about double. We went up over the weekend for a little bit of family fun.

The boys headed out for a round of golf and left the girls back with this crew. After the males returned, we got in a little four-wheelin'. Overall, a good time was had by all.

Drive-in

Our custom in the warmer months, we went to the drive-in movies. We saw Night at the Museum II and X-Men Origins, Wolverine. Rachel almost made it all the way through the first one before falling asleep. Austin bit the dust halfway through the second, same with Mandi, and Mitchell and I watched all of both.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

So, have YOU ever been on a date with your father-in-law? Well, me either. But last night I was asked to join Randy at a play. I jumped at the chance, and was delighted! He's a pretty good date (must be where my husband got it from :))! I drove his Lexus, and that was enough to really make me sick (and very nervous)...and then I got to parallel park downtown! I think the last time I did that was at my drivers test. But I did an ok job (thank goodness for rear view cameras, and a little coaching from Randy). We went to Lamb's Grill Cafe. It has been in the same beautiful, old building since 1939. Yummy!

Tom and Corinne joined us. Tom always cracks us up with corny jokes. The one that stood out to me was:

"I just got back from a pleasure trip...... I took my mother-in-law to the airport!"

I thought it was great. Tom can really dead-pan it... just like W.C. Fields.

We walked to Capitol Theatre... holding hands. It was so nice. Lately we have all been taking the time to really relish each moment we are in, and it has really been bonding us closer together. I'm grateful for each moment.

We saw Megan and Luann, which I was not expecting.

The play was really good. the beginning had me a little worried because I really did not get into it, but act 2 was just full of excitement. We left singing the songs.
Overall a great date with my father-in-law!!

Rachel

Rachel learned how to ride a two wheeler!! She LOVES to ride her bike and does it EVERY day. Austin's still not there yet, but that's our goal this summer.
